My name is Nguyen Hoang Lan, which means yellow royal orchid. But since childhood I have been also called Mimi by my family. And this the name that I have chosen for my own label.
I have been born in Hanoi but I am living in Prague already for more than 15 years. I studied political sciences at Charles University in Prague, not the art . as many people think. My most important art school was at home. Both my parents are painters and my lifelong teachers. Since my childhood I have mingled in the world of painters and artists and learned about beauty with them.
Five years ago I founded La Femme Mimi. It is a small brand with big dreams, goals and principles. It creates beauty for women but at the same time preserves ancestral tradition and protects both environment and NATURE.
Nature? Today`s consume society is yet not engaged enough in waste and energy consumption issues. This situation makes me worried. In Vietnam ,my homeland, these concems are resolved in a very natural way. We use our materials ultimately. Any leftovers in the cloth industry are used to produce new products which are not only nice to look at, but which are also benign to the environment and to the nature. Nothing is dissipated.
Fashion craft of my company is not always able to avoid the overproduction of certain products. And I really see it a problem for the environment. Thus I have decided to solve it radically. With the emphasis on all leftovers , I created a new collection called "Butterfly wings do not harm environnment".
